And to respond to that statement;
Goodness! Aren’t we thankful God is a merciful God, full of kindness and compassion? He has a way of always leading, prompting, instructing and correcting us by His spirit.
Listen, our loving God doesn’t mind recreating a new package for you if he has to, He is never stranded or exhausted of gifts. He doesn’t essentially need or lack people either. He is unlimited and wonderful. Never forget that.
However, its still a commendable step to talk to God about what you perceive. Several times we are admonished to Pray for one another.
Do we remember Jonah? Even Jonah who had bluntly refused to go deliver God’s message to the people of Nineveh, God still had a way of seeing to it that not even Jonah’s attempted suicide, would stop His plans for Nineveh.
Even if a person goes hardened like Pharaoh, let’s not forget how God still dealt with Pharaoh until he’d let God’s people go.
But what if , what if … And why, what to do? 🤔
Meanwhile such a Scenario reminds me that there are 2 categories of people who may not pray and how to deal with it.
Two categories of people;
The first category are those who won’t pray, not because they don’t love you but because they are tired and don’t yet realize how deep the situation you are in.
The second category are those who won’t pray because they don’t understand the Value of you to God.
Let me explain the First Category:
One horrifying night, Jesus called his disciples to pray with him for an hour. For about three times he begged them to pray for him, they sincerely agreed to join him but then they slept off .read the full story in Mark 14:32-41.
They slept off because they didn’t yet understand how grave the situation was. I can say this because, as soon as the soldiers had arrived, suddenly the sleep they couldn’t withhold for an hour, disappeared from their eyes until the following day.
The reason is, sometimes others may assume that you have it all under control. They probably see you as “the big guy” and their ‘little prayers” may not change much for you. They innocently think you should rather be praying for them. Unconsciously they have underestimated their labour in prayer for you.
This group of people will need some more teachings and understanding of their roles in prayer for you.
One way to help is to practice letting others know how much their prayer for you yesterday was effective or how it gave you much comfort to have them pray with you. This way, they would be encouraged to pray for you next time knowing that their prayers for you matter and are effective afterall.
Another thing is to make sure you explain the true state of things to them so they could know how serious it is and connect with you in deep prayers. If the disciples understood what night it was, I believe they would have prayed because they cherished Jesus deeply.
Above all, Jesus showed us that even after we have asked them to pray, we should genuinely check on them to be sure they are praying, if not remind them to.
Yet in all of that, we, ourselves, should not stop praying. Pray until you receive strength to carry on. Pray until he tells you what next to do.
The second category of people:
Recall the statements of Jesus on the Judgement day ( Mathew 25:36) where he says to some ” I was sick and you visited me and looked after me”
And to another group he said ” I was sick and you didn’t visit me”
To each of these groups, he said whatever you did or didn’t do to the least of this my brethren you did it or didn’t do it to me.
When a person is sick, Jesus is saying that He is the one sick. He identifies himself with you in every state, sickness or in health. This is to tell you that He feels, sees and knows all you go through.
So though there will be people that may not do for you what they should have done for you because they still don’t understand what true service to God is, some will.
You see, what we do for the sick is our proof of care for Jesus
In the end, what I do for you, is what I have done for Jesus, what you have done for me is what you have done for Jesus.

Precious Jesus! How I thank God for the words that have bee written ! God bless you sister! I was so moved upon reading this article. In some way or the other, we all are guilty for not stepping into our shoes that God intend’s us to and pray for each other. I was reminded , that the ‘unanswered prayers are those that were never prayed’. How oftrn, we tell a friend who is going through an issue , that we will pray for them and for whatever reasons, don’t? .
This one thing was enough. The service we do for each other is what we do for Jesus! Hallelujah!
